Catchin’ Up

Hello everybody and welcome to my site!

It has been quite an eventful last few months since returning to Los Angeles from Rochester, New York where I got my Master’s from the Eastman School of Music.  Getting on my feet financially was my chief concern upon my return.  Now that I have that taken care of, I am free to focus on what means the most to me: music!

Let me begin by sharing my notable Performances in the last few months:

I have been playing regularly with the band Thelonius Dub playing the music of The Dark Side of the Moon.  We have been playing amazing shows to packed houses. We have a few more shows booked in the next couple weeks so check my calender for details.

I have also been playing with a jazzy pop band called The Hot Nothing.  Our gig at Vittello’s went extremely well.  This band is a blast to play with so be sure to check us out!

I had the great pleasure of playing the Solo Book in the Elliot Deutsch Big Band at the Catalina Jazz Club in July.

Playing with Jill Avilez and the Love Absurd at the House of Blues was also a lot of fun.

I have been keeping busy writing music for a new project.  This excites me greatly as I plan to have this rolling by the end of the year.

I am very happy to be Teaching in an array of environments.

On Wednesday nights, I have the great privilege to be coaching jazz combos at my alma mater, California State University Northridge.  It is a lot of fun to be working with these talented jazz majors who are the next generation of creative musicians.

I have been fortunate to have re-built my private studio as well.  I have many students in the Agoura Hills and Malibu area.  I have a studio at Nick Rail Music in Agoura Hills and also have been driving to students’ homes as well.

Last but not least are my little guys.  I am teaching Elementary School Band at three schools in Santa Clarita.  I currently teach beginning brass, woodwinds, percussion, and advanced band.  I cannot wait for our first concerts in December!
